Come to Meeting for pizza and learn about the International Day of Peace
At noon, we’ll host a moment of silence along with others in our time zone, helping spread a wave of peace across the world. The tradition of the Peace Wave started with the first Day of Peace in 1982.
Anyone is welcome to stop by for as long as they like.
The theme for this year’s Day of Peace is: End racism. Build peace.
As Secretary-General António Guterres has said:
“Racism continues to poison institutions, social structures, and everyday life in every society. It continues to be a driver of persistent inequality. And it continues to deny people their fundamental human rights. It destabilizes societies, undermines democracies, erodes the legitimacy of governments, and… the linkages between racism and gender inequality are unmistakable.”
