Unprogrammed Friends are often unsure about how best to answer questions about what it is to be a Quaker or what Quakers believe. We hedge our responses or list a series of negatives about what we don’t do, or answer in terms of values. This talk will highlight the challenges of these approaches and offer a positive assertive alternative that will help us reclaim an authentic Quaker voice
