Ministry and Nurture Committee (M&N) responsibilities include:
- Fostering the quality of worship and vocal ministry while nurturing the spiritual life of our Meeting
- The pastoral care of members and attenders: emotional, social, spiritual support.
We tend to use queries to focus our discernment as we gather in worship at our semi-monthly committee meetings.
We want Friends to know that M&N is here for attenders and members. Anyone may contact the clerk or a member of the committee with a question, need, joy, sorrow, or concern (how the AV works for you, Quaker process, or a weighty issue).
Options to meet with us include at one of our regular meetings or at another time, or individually with anyone on the committee. We can’t promise quick solutions though we promise that we aim to be present with Friends and to treat concerns brought to us with sensitivity.
Other options for listening and helping a Friend reach clarity and direction are:
- a Clearness Committee (membership, marriage, and other life decision) and
- a Care Committee (to support a person handling stressful circumstances)
Members in Clearness and Care Committees come from the meeting at large and may be suggested by the Friend bringing forward the concern.
