Description: Join KYC for a free virtual training series designed for youth-serving professionals and families who want to learn more about LGBTQIA+ identities and how to create safer, more affirming spaces for young people.

Join KYC to discuss statistics related to discrimination and risks that LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults face on a day-to-day basis when accessing services. We’ll introduce the Trans Inclusivity Scale, and discuss ways in which professionals can change and adapt their agency to align as a fully inclusive and affirming organization. This lesson is designed as a foundational lesson for audiences who have limited prior knowledge of best practices for working with LGBTQIA+ young adults, or those who have a basic knowledge but may need updated. This session does not include “LGBTQ+ 101” or an explanation of specific identities and terminology — join us on July 9 for “The Gender Unicorn” for that information.
